Description

Started in 1992, the major construction site of the Cité Judiciaire de Luxembourg is the work of the architectural firm Krier-Kohl. Rob Krier, originally from Luxembourg, imagined 4 sculptures to adorn the entrance to the building, placed on top of 4 columns, and named them “Verschämt”, “Lauschend”, “Ermahnend”, and “Auf der Hut”. Each expresses, in German, a feeling that men and women, guilty or innocent, may experience when faced with justice. (Shame, Attention, Admonition, Vigilance).
